Dear MPS Staff, Students, and Families:
It was discovered this morning that our Google for Education domain had been compromised by a bad actor. Out of an abundance of caution, district IT personnel took swift action to isolate the remainder of our systems, including our Microsoft domain, systems that contain staff and student data, and our on-campus telephone and safety systems.
To our knowledge, our network and those systems remain uncompromised. We are currently working with third-party cybersecurity partners to confirm the integrity of those systems.
We are requesting that all staff and students refrain from accessing their Millville Public Schools Google accounts at this time (including email addresses ending in “@mps.millville.org”). Please be prepared for a potential prolonged internet outage that may extend into our school week as well as a lack of access to our Google for Education apps, including Google Classroom. There are no plans at this time to close schools.
We will share more information as it becomes available to us and thank everyone for your trust, patience, and cooperation.
